Formal indictment in killing of attorney

ST. LOUIS (AP) - Two men accused of killing a St. Louis County attorney whose body was found in Illinois have now been formally indicted.

A St. Louis grand jury on Sunday indicted 41-year-old Cleophus King of St. Louis and 20-year-old Ronald Johnson of Ferguson, Missouri. Both face charges of first-degree murder, robbery and armed criminal action.

The body of 38-year-old Luke Meiners of University City, Missouri, was found last month in a wooded area in Venice, Illinois. Investigators say Meiners was killed at King’s home before the body was moved.

The suspects were initially charged soon after Meiners’ body was found.
